Hi, I'm Ronald.

Creator of Miniature Paper Worlds with a handmade paper diorama

I’ve always enjoyed making things and figuring out how they work. Give me some paper, cardboard, scissors and an idea, and before long my desk usually looks exactly like the photo you see here.

Miniature Paper Worlds grew from that curiosity. I love taking a simple idea — a forest, an ocean, a tiny garage or an imaginary place — and working out how to turn it into something you can actually print, cut and build.

Some ideas work immediately. Others take a lot of measuring, test prints, cutting, changing things and starting again. That messy part is often the most fun.

This website is where I share the finished projects, but also the experiments, ideas and little discoveries behind them. Hopefully they inspire kids, parents, teachers and other creative people to grab a shoebox and make a miniature world of their own.

Why build worlds inside shoeboxes?

Sometimes the most interesting projects begin with ordinary materials. A cardboard box, a few printed pages and an idea can become an entire miniature environment.

The Design Journal follows the experiments, ideas, mistakes and solutions behind these miniature paper worlds.
